Due to the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, a ceremony was held at Near East Junior College to commemorate the day.
According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the concepts of secularism and democracy were emphasised; and the love for Atatürk, his principles and revolutions were reviewed at the ceremony.
It was stated that the ceremony was initiated with one-minute silence, followed by the National Anthem. The ceremony was presented by the 5E student, Eylem Bozkurt. Furthermore, the significance of the day was emphasised by 5G student, Helin Öztüccar where she expressed gratitude to Atatürk and his fellow soldiers for all that they have done.
In addition to the above, it was pointed out that the ceremony also included poem reading, alongside the performance of the school choir and orchestra. The students of Near East Junior College celebrated the foundation of the Republic of Turkey and lived the excitement throughout the ceremony. Moreover, the ceremony ended with the oath of 5A student, Ece Ilgın Oygucu’s taking an oath to continue to progress on the path that Atatürk has opened for the Turks.
